Artist Panel Discussion

Join Burnie Regional Art Gallery for an engaging morning of conversation with exhibiting artists Michael Muruste, David Hawley and Jaclyn Poke as they discuss the ideas, processes and inspirations behind their current exhibitions.

Bringing together the artists from Strange Faith and In the Stillness, this panel offers a unique opportunity to hear how three contemporary painters approach abstraction, landscape and the expressive possibilities of paint. From intuitive mark-making and richly layered surfaces to the quiet contemplation of place, the discussion will explore how each artist navigates the relationship between material, memory and meaning.

Whether you're an artist, art student, or simply curious about contemporary painting, this is a rare chance to gain insight into the creative practices of three accomplished Tasmanian artists and to ask questions about the works on display.

Tickets are free, however bookings are essential. The discussion begins at 10.30am and concludes at 11.30am in Creative Workshop 2
